Construction
Miramis is committed to fostering a thriving local economy while preserving the unique character of each property and its surroundings. By prioritising sustainable construction practices, embracing local craftsmanship, and sourcing regional materials, spaces are created that resonate deeply with the heritage and spirit of their architectural, natural and human environment.
Furniture and Materials
Local artistry and artisanship are honoured in every single element of the interior design. Traditional techniques meet modern aesthetics, enhancing each property's uniqueness while supporting the craft communities that sustain and shape the territory. All furnishings are made from certified, traceable sustainable materials.
Energy, Water and Waste
Renewable sources are favoured, alongside waste management systems that ensure minimal impact on the local ecosystem. At our properties, faucets in rooms and common areas stream filtered drinking water for guests’ use, a green alternative to bottled water, which takes a heavy toll on the environment in terms of packaging and transportation.
Plastic Free
Miramis applies a plastic-free policy wherever possible. Eco-friendly alternatives tailored to each property include the aluminium water bottles that guests can refill from their in-room filtered drinking water faucets.
Social Responsibility
Think Local
From its inception, Miramis has encouraged regional hires and promoted community-based training programmes. Currently, around 70% of staff in the Argentario properties come from the local area, many of them young talents who have seized the opportunity to return home after years spent working abroad.
Fighting Food Waste
Together with the Porto Ercole branch of Italian charity Caritas, Miramis has arranged for unused food to be distributed on a daily basis to needy families and individuals in the local area.
L’Orto Giusto
Miramis works with small local agricultural producers at every stage of the growing season. Its flagship collaboration is with L’Orto Giusto, an Orbetello-based social cooperative that employs young people with disabilities, fostering autonomy and well-being through plant cultivation.
