Argentario

Tuscany may be known for its hill towns and cities, but its coastline, particularly the part known as Monte Argentario, has been drawing fashionable Romans, Florentines, and international insiders for decades.

Less than a two-hour drive from Rome, Porto Ercole, its main port, remains one of the region’s anchors, mooring sleek sailboats and seductive motorboats.

Even if you don’t have your own vessel, there are a number of chic hotels to set up shop.

A recent entry to the hospitality scene

There’s LA ROQQA, a recent entry to the hospitality scene, that provides an easy walk into the port—plus its terrace bar and restaurant, Scirocco, have become the Argentario’s most stylish new arrivals.

The property also has a free shuttle to Isolotto Beach Club, a tucked away gem with a small beach, crystal clear water, and an excellent restaurant—try their interpretation of panzanella.
