Chef of the Year to Turn Gastronomy into an Experience at the New Gasometer Arena.

Chef of the Year (Årets Kock) is set to play a key role in shaping the culinary experience at Gasometer – Stockholm’s new arena for culture and events.

The ambition is clear: food and drink should not be a side offering, but an integral part of the overall experience. At Gasometer, gastronomy is intended to stand alongside stage performances and technology as one of the venue’s defining elements.

Through a strategic collaboration, Chef of the Year will contribute its expertise to develop the long-term culinary direction across the arena’s restaurants, bars, and event formats. The focus will be on quality, craftsmanship, and consistency at the highest level.

“Gasometer is the most ambitious cultural and events project in Scandinavia. It is a place where gastronomy will not be an added service, but a central part of the experience.”

Helene Kugelberg, CEO of Årets Kock

Head chef to be appointed

As part of the partnership, Chef of the Year will also lead the process of appointing Gasometer’s creative executive chef. The role will be filled exclusively by a former winner of the prestigious Chef of the Year title.

According to the project’s leadership, the ambition is to set a new standard for arena dining, ensuring that the culinary offering matches the quality and ambition of the venue as a whole.

Set to open 2027

Gasometer, scheduled to open in 2027 in Norra Djurgårdsstaden, is being developed as a destination where large-scale cultural experiences meet gastronomy. The goal is to create a venue where food and drink are not just complementary—but a reason to visit in their own right.

For Chef of the Year, the collaboration represents an opportunity to influence how gastronomy is integrated into future large-scale venues—placing it at the heart of the experience rather than at the periphery.
