Sustainability

It all comes down to respect

We aim to create long-term value for people, places, and the business — leaving destinations better than we found them.

Sustainability is an integrated part of how we invest, design, operate, and grow. We encourage learning and conscious choices across operations, guests and communities.

Our diverse portfolio reflects different cultures, environments, and stories, and we respect the unique character of every place.

We bring destinations to life through responsible tourism, local partnerships, and diverse teams, creating experiences that resonate with guests that share our values.

This is a task that requires constant effort. We are always ready to learn and refine our approach.

Impact

Our strategy is built on a set of shared foundations that apply across the group.

From this baseline, each brand develops its own approach, shaped by its unique location, context, character, and potential.

Caring for the environment starts here and now

Crafting a sustainable approach

Conserving the unique character of each of our properties and its surroundings not only preserves local heritage but allows us to support sustainable and traceable construction practices, embrace local artistry and craftsmanship, and source regional materials. Creativity and tradition do not stand still. We believe that contemporary design is not incompatible with all that is local, natural and artisanal.

Stepping lightly

Renewable sources are favoured, alongside waste management systems that ensure minimal impact on the local ecosystem. At our properties, faucets in rooms and common areas stream filtered drinking water for guests’ use — a green alternative to bottled water, which takes a heavy toll on the environment in terms of packaging and transportation.

Inspired by local talent. By local communities. By the local environment.

Miramis invites every guest on a journey of discovery between the worlds of hospitality and entertainment.

It believes that hotel stays, gastronomy, the shared ritual of performance, engaged design, cultural curiosity, the health of body and mind and care for the environment are all aspects of the same desire for joy, learning, connection, and personal growth.

Social responsibility, community engagement

Open the door to local talent

From its inception, Miramis has encouraged regional hires and promoted inclusive, community-based training programmes. This creates long-term career opportunities, supports local growth, and promotes meaningful guest interactions. In areas such as Argentario in Tuscany, where job opportunities for highly-motivated young people are thin on the ground, it also stems talent drain and encourages gifted locals to return from abroad.

Taste the territory

In sourcing produce for restaurants and catering operations, we like to take a look around. Our chefs and F&B managers are encouraged to build relationships with local farmers and food artisans, cutting down on transport and enhancing guest engagement. In Tuscany, our flagship collaboration is with L’Orto Giusto, an Orbetello-based social cooperative that employs young people with disabilities, fostering autonomy and well-being through plant cultivation.

Case studies

Our approach is shaped through local partnerships, practical initiatives, and a focus on long-term impact.c

Water & Waste Reduction

At LA ROQQA, filtered water in every room replaces single-use aluminium bottles. In 2025, this meant 9,000 fewer bottles — a quiet shift with a measurable impact on emissions and resource use.

Generation waste

Through Generation Waste, our Stockholm properties work to reduce waste across operations. A collaborative initiative is focused on better resource use, circular thinking, and long-term change.
