Gasometer

Designed by Ferdinand Boberg, one of Sweden’s most prominent architects around the turn of the 19th century, this handsome brick gas storage tower is today a key element of an urban regeneration scheme overseen by the City of Stockholm.

Miramis is proud to have been chosen to work alongside the municipality to give this iconic edifice a new life as a state-of-the-art performance venue and cultural hub.

Spanning nine storeys, the main auditorium is designed to deliver unobstructed views and cutting-edge acoustics, with a maximum capacity of 2,300 guests.

“An iconic industrial structure being transformed into a new landmark for Stockholm.”

Located in the heart of the Gasworks Area, a district that once supplied much of Stockholm’s energy needs, Gasometer belongs to an era when industrial edifices could be things of beauty.

Below the roof…

…is Gasometer’s crowning glory – The Dome, a soaring banqueting hall that recalls an industrial interpretation of Rome’s Pantheon. Its graceful latticework ceiling and central raised lantern faithfully echo the original.

Accommodating 800 seated or 1,000 standing guests, The Dome is Stockholm’s most modern venue for extraordinary concerts, exhibitions, conferences, and galas.
